Tramping in the Abel Tasman NP

The next day after sea kayaking, we caught the sea taxi again and got dropped off at Medlands Beach and left to walk back to Torrent Bay. It was a glorious day and it lovely walking through the forest.

Sea Kayaking!

One of the great things you can do at the Abel Tasman National Park is go sea kayaking. Most days the sea is like glass but for some reason we got some freak conditions and experienced some pretty big waves. It added to the adventure and we had a brilliant day. One of the coolest things is that you have to catch a sea taxi to get out to the park. You get on board the taxi on land and the boat is then towed by tractor into the sea. We were very impressed with the driving/boating skills of the taxi guys!

Looking good - getting ready to go kayaking

Cycling and Drinking...

On a perfect summer's day, we hired a couple of bicycles and cycled around the Malborough wine region. We had got some tips from the barman at the Hotel D'Urville the night before as well as a few from the bike hire guy. We found some great wineries in some amazing locations, and of course tried a few.
